Green light for £40m St Mellion development plan
Planning approval has been secured for a £40m holiday lodge development in St Mellion, Cornwall.Australia-based Crown Golf, with development partner Sequoia Real Estate, plan to transform the 350-acre St Mellion Estate from its traditional underpinning as a golfers’ hotel into a family-friendly 230-unit luxury resort.The modular cedar wood lodges will be built off-site in a factory and transported to St Mellion by road for installation.Together with plans for a new kids club and farm shop, they will join the 80-key four-star hotel, two championship 18-hole golf courses, health and fitness club, wedding venue, conference event space and 28 holiday cottages already on-site. Further investment is planned to enhance the hotel. The first phase, the refurbishment of the resort gym, was completed earlier this year.
