Green Light for 675-home Sittingbourne Scheme
The Secretary of State has approved a 675-home urban extension in Sittingbourne.It comes after the project was refused by Swale Borough Council in June 2019 and a subsequent appeal was lodged by Quinn Estates.The site at Wises Lane will provide 675 new homes, of which 81 are affordable. Plans also include strategic highway infrastructure between Borden Lane and Chestnut Street.The development will result in a contribution of about £13m as part of a section 106 agreement, with 370 construction jobs set to be created per year.
