Green Light for Cardiff Care Home Development
Planning permission has been granted for a new specialist care home in Cardiff which is set to create more than 100 jobs.Care UK, a provider of health and social care services for more than 30 years, has received approval for to build a property off Ty-Draw Road and Pentwyn Road in the west Pontprennau area, towards the northern edge of Cardiff.The 75-bedroom scheme with associated parking and infrastructure will provide specialist, dementia care, residential care and respite care.Facilities offered will include en-suite bedrooms with a range of communal and amenity spaces incorporating a café, activity rooms, cinema, hairdressers, lounges, dining areas and quiet rooms.All residents will benefit from communal amenity and landscaped spaces, with all ground floor bedrooms having direct access into the garden spaces.It is intended that the proposal will provide a care facility within the local area for those with nursing and dementia care needs. At the same time, the care home will also provide full time employment opportunities for local people.Construction is expected to start in site in autumn 2021.Care UK currently provide care and support to over 6,000 older people in 120 nursing and care homes across the country.
