Green light for homes on former airfield
Vistry Group has secured the green light to build 60 affordable homes on the final piece of a former RAF airfield in Lower Quinton, Stratford-upon-Avon.The company has parted with GreenSquareAccord on the Airfield House development, which will transform the final piece of the former RAF Long Marston airfield.Lined up is 21 homes for affordable rent, 13 for social rent and 26 under a shared ownership scheme.Adam Sharpe, managing director for Vistry South West Midlands, said: “We are excited to have secured planning permission for Airfield House and to be working with Greensquare Accord on this exciting new development.”There is a significant need for new, high-quality, affordable housing in this part of Warwickshire and this is a major step forward in meeting that demand.”We know that affordable buyers will relish the opportunity to live in modern family homes and to be part of a vibrant and well-connected new community here in Warwickshire.”Mike Nolan, head of development at GreenSquareAccord, added: “We are proud to be delivering 60 new affordable homes for people and families in Warwickshire as part of the Long Marston Garden Village development.”By providing homes for affordable and social rent alongside homes available under shared ownership scheme, we are helping to meet a variety of local housing need in part of Warwickshire where it is highly desirable to live.”
