Green light for job-creating Yorkshire development

Caddick Developments has secured planning permission has been secured for a scheme that could support the creation of 400 jobs and inject £12.5m into the region’s economy.Kirklees Council’s Planning Committee have given the go-ahead for the second phase of Moor Park 25, located close to junction 25 of the M62.The 15.4-acre site has been earmarked for commercial development for a number of years with the first phase recently completed, and a lease signed, on a new 72,400 sq ft distribution unit.Phase 2 will comprise five further industrial buildings, totalling 180,000 sq ft ranging from 19,500 sq ft to 59,000 sq ft. Outline approval for this phase was granted in 2014.The site has been identified as one of ten Enterprise Zones within the Leeds City Region area by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority.Road improvements, including significant improvements to a junction from the A62, along with infrastructure work have already taken place with the completion of Phase 1 as part of a £3m investment.Rob Oliver of Avison Young Leeds and Mike Haigh of Dove Haigh Phillips are joint agents for the scheme.
