Green Light for Lancaster Residential Scheme
Plans for a residential scheme in Lancaster have moved ahead, despite coming up against a number of objections.Oakmere Homes is behind the application, which is lined up for a site on Pathfinders Drive.The proposals went before Lancaster City Council’s planning committee in December but were deferred over a disagreement on the affordable housing provision.With an agreement struck, it went back before the panel and has now secured approval.Lined up for 53 homes – across three, four and five bedrooms – as well as a three-storey, eight-strong apartment block. The conversion of the grade II*-listed Derby Home into a further eight units is also proposed.Approval was secured despite the application coming up against 39 letters of objection, as well as concerns being raised by two councillors and the Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust.
