Green light for Liverpool Shopping Park expansion

Plans for the leisure-led second phase of Liverpool Shopping Park on Edge Lane, which is expected to create up to 885 jobs, have been approved.The project will involve £30m being invested into Liverpool Shopping Park by its owners, The Derwent Group.It will comprise 145,000 sq ft of space and include a six-screen cinema, Hollywood Bowl, a gym and five restaurants. A separate building will accommodate a 60,000 sq ft anchor retail store and a further 16 smaller units.Once complete, Liverpool Shopping Park’s total retail offer will be more than 300,000 sq ft. Existing occupiers include Next, M&S Food Hall, River Island, H&M , TK Maxx and Smyths Toys.Work will start on site in the summer of 2019 and is expected to open in the autumn of 2020.McMullen Wilson and CSP are the letting agents for Liverpool Shopping Park phase two. The planning consultancy is ATP Planning, AEW is the architect and Arcadis is project manager.
