Green Light For Mallusk Manufacturing Facility Expansion
Plans for a £5.8 million expansion at Brett Martin’s Mallusk facility have been approved for development.The plastics manufacturer will now move forward with the expansion after planning approval was granted by Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council.The company, which manufactures specialist plastic products for a range of sectors, has linked up with landowner Ballinamallard Developments Ltd for the project next to its existing base on Roughfort Road.The development will include an expansion of the main Brett Martin facility, providing additional storage and distribution warehousing.Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Alderman Stephen Ross said: “As a long-standing local company, it is great to see Brett Martin commit to further investment in the Borough.”Commenting on the development, Laurence Martin, Managing Director, Brett Martin added: “Our business has been continually expanding at our Mallusk site and this type of investment is made with a medium to long term view. While the economy and construction market are expected to face challenges in the coming months across our key markets, we are confident that these investments will facilitate our continued growth in coming years.”
