Green light for mixed-use scheme at historic mill
The grade II-listed former site of one of the oldest ceramic firms in Stoke-on-Trent is be transformed into a mixed-use destination after the plans were approved.Aynsley Mill in Sutherland Road, Longton, has been earmarked for the scheme which will see it converted to provide space for Business, general industrial, storage or distribution, shops and assembly and leisure uses.London-based Purcla Ltd is behind the application which will create 21 jobs and provide a total of 103 car parking spaces.The site was the former home of Aynsley China which closed its factory in 2014 with the loss of 40 jobs.The company was established in 1775 and had been on the site since 1875.
