Green light for spinning mill site refurbishment
Proposals to redevelop a former spinning mill site in Oldham and build 98 affordable homes have been given the green light.The £14m Maple Mill project is expected to directly create more than 60 jobs during the building of the flats, maisonettes and houses.Planning and development consultancy Lichfields, on behalf of MCI Developments, secured approval to develop the 4.6-acre brownfield site in Hathershaw.The derelict plot was largely cleared following arson attacks in 2009 and 2016. Prior to this, it had not been in operation for more than ten years.MCI Developments is working with Great Places Housing Group to deliver the affordable housing.
