Green light recommended for 500-home development

A proposed development of more than 500 new homes on a site in South Yorkshire looks set to get the green light. Construction of the scheme could support almost 1,700 jobs.WYG, which was appointed by Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council, via Faithful and Gould, lodged plans in October 2018 for development at a site at Hungerhill Lane in Doncaster.The 51.6-acre site currently features a mixture of grassland, vegetation and clearings. It is located about 5.8km from Doncaster town centre.Outline planning permission is sought for the construction of 542 dwellings with associated public open space, parking, landscaping and infrastructure.Access points would be created to the north, from Doncaster Road, and south, from Thorne Road.It has been estimated that the construction of 542 homes could support about 1,680 jobs.The application will go before the council’s planning committee and is recommended for approval, subject to conditions, in a planning officer’s report prepared for the meeting.
