Green light set for almost 500 homes scheme

Almost 500 homes and a 40-acre country park could be constructed in Staffordshire after the plans were recommended for approval.Deanslade Park Consortium and Taylor Wimpey are behind the scheme for Deanslade Park on land south of Falkland Road in Lichfield.The plans had been due to be debated last month (January) but councillors deferred making a decision after requesting more time to study legal advice.The proposals will be discussed at a special meeting of Lichfield District Council’s planning committee on Monday 4 March 2019.The authority first approved the application at a meeting on 2 July 2018 for a total of 475 homes alongside the country park, a one-form-entry primary school and sports pitches.However, councillors have now been asked to rule on the application for a second time. The scheme was originally submitted to the council in August 2017.
