Green light tipped for more than 300 homes

The proposed development of more than 300 homes on agricultural land in Shrewsbury has been recommended for approval.Barratt and David Wilson Homes are seeking the go-ahead from Shropshire Council to build 340 residential properties on land at Churncote, Off Welshpool Road.The site covers an area of approximately 31 acres and is located on the edge of the area known as Bicton Heath. Part of the site also consists of a small haulage depot.The development comprises a mixture of one, two, three and four-bedroom properties, with 51 allocated as affordable housing.Additionally, the application also proposes open space provision, a play area, attenuation ponds to the north and retention of an existing natural pond in the south eastern section of the site.
