Growth on the cards for Carney Consultancy
North Shields-based Carney Consultancy is primed for growth after experiencing a strong start to the year and securing a solid forward order book.In the last two years, the company – led by managing director Angela Carney and directors Martin Crammond and David Wadds – has seen turnover surge by 64 per cent.Established in 2002, the business specialises in construction and engineering, providing health and safety consultancy and trainingLast year the company identified a gap in the market to provide specialist training to three of its staff in areas such as sustainability and environmental awareness and has aided in completing carbon footprint reports for companies planning for the future.Sister business Carney CDM, which provides both principal designer and CDM advisor role services, is also growing and plans to open a new office.Managing director Angela Carney said: “Carney Consultancy has steadily grown in the last few years as a result of investing heavily in our people to develop their skills and careers which, clearly, is of benefit to our loyal clients.”She added: “Our growth has been organic through word of mouth and by identifying areas of opportunity. We have also expanded our footprint into the North West, working with a number of key clients, such as Cubby Construction and TClarke.”Our sister company, Carney CDM, is growing very well and, over the last three years, has worked on construction projects that ranged from less than £1 million to £30 million in size.”Led by director, Caroline Morton, the company has worked on a number of prestigious projects such as the refurbishment of The Axis Building, on the Team Valley Trading Estate, Gateshead, on behalf of UK Land Estates.”
