Halton Council ‘delighted’ at Widnes transport and technology hub green light
Halton Council has expressed delight’ that planning permission for a transport and technology hub in Widnes which could generate up to 600 jobs has been granted.On the week of 16 May, the borough’s development control committee gave the green light for train builder Alstom to construct a facility in Halebank at the HBC Field site.The planning application which was given the go-ahead said that the completed development – to be built over three phases – will employ between 400 and 600 people.It will cost £20m and will also include a training facility, which will open in autumn 2017.
