Haverstock wins approval for latest crematorium project
Haverstock has won approval for the latest in its growing portfolio of crematorium projectsThe practice, which has already completed five crematoria, including in Aylesbury, Guildford and Lincolnshire, has now been given the go-ahead for this £5.3 million scheme in Hemel Hempstead.The 635m² scheme features a main building housing a chapel, which can seat 139 people, alongside the reception rooms, crematory, administration and staff spaces. There are also plans for a memorial chapel in a separate pavilion block.According to the practice, the large anthracite-coloured zinc roof has been chosen to match the palettes of nearby barns and farm buildings.The project is backed by Watford Borough Council on behalf of West Herts Crematorium Joint Committee.An expected completion date has been set for July 2022.
