Heathcotes Group opens two new centres
Care provider Heathcotes Group is to open two new centres near Nottingham following the redevelopment of its original estate in Hucknall. The newly-refurbished buildings at Watnall Road will offer a range of specialist person-centred services with Gilbert Lodge supporting people with mental health needs and challenging behaviours and Taylor View supporting people with learning disabilities, dual diagnoses and challenging behaviours. Each centre has two storeys totalling circa 2,580 sq ft of new accommodation comprising five large en-suite bedrooms, a disabled bath/shower room, toilets, two lounges, dining room, kitchen, laundry room and a manager’s office.Constructed in the 1920s as mine manager residences, the two buildings housed Heathcotes Group’s first services when they opened in 2004.They eventually became affected by land subsidence which required relocation in 2015 to purpose-built Heathcotes services in Lancaster Road, Hucknall. In July 2016 Heathcotes’ own in-house architectural consultancy, JDS Design, commenced a full structural survey which found the Watnall Road buildings were structurally sound and the earlier subsidence had ceased.Working with contractor John Ryan Developments Ltd, JDS Design carried out repair works and a refurbishment.
