A proposed development of a holiday park, workshops, retail and events space on the site of an East Yorkshire farm look set to get the go ahead later this week (22 October 2020).Plans were submitted to East Riding of Yorkshire Council at the end of 2019 for development at Yoke Gate Farm in Spaldington.Planning permission is sought for the change of use of the existing farmstead buildings, fields and woodland on the site to create a holiday park comprising 49 log cabins. The proposal also includes retail, café, craft pods, artisan bakery, a deli and boulangerie, tackle shop, staff facilities, workshop and warehouse, exhibition and display space, and a fishing lake.It has been estimated that the development would create ten full-time jobs as well as part-time roles during events and exhibitions.A statement prepared by MM Planning in support on the application said the proposed tourist and commercial complex would bring “significant financial investment and job creation” to the area. The application will be considered by the council’s Planning Committee on 22 October and is recommended for approval, subject to conditions, in an officer’s report prepared for the remote meeting.
