Home builder submits plan for 300 homes in Derby
Persimmon Homes has submitted plans to Derby City Council for a 300-home development in Littleover. The proposed site, situated near the recently constructed Aldi supermarket seeks to utilise the green space off Rykneld Road. The plans outline enhancing local transport connectivity, including the creation of a spine road for the proposed community, along with a financial contribution towards a new primary school. The development will be a mixture of two-bedroom apartments and two, three, four and five-bedroom houses, with almost 100 of the new homes being affordable housing. These proposals arise as Derby City Council faces a shortfall in meeting the mandatory five-year housing supply for the city. Consequently, the council is exploring potential locations to address the demand for housing. The housing supply challenge may contribute to the favourable consideration of these plans in upcoming planning decisions.Derby City Council is set to make a decision on the plans by February, however, dates can be subject to change.
