Hotel and apartments planned for old college site
A hotel and more than 90 apartments could be constructed on the site of a former further and higher education college in Corby, according to new plans.The Tresham College site in George Street has been earmarked for the scheme which would see a 70-bed hotel, with 31 parking spaces, created alongside 92 flats with 116 parking spots.Two separate applications have been submitted to Corby Borough Council by Mulberry Commercial Developments.If the go-ahead is granted for the hotel, nine full-time and 20 part-time jobs would be created.Designed by pHp Architects, Homes England is also involved in the applications.The site borders the Savoy Cinema complex and the Corby Olympic Swimming Pool.Tresham College moved to a new £36m site in Oakley Road in September 2011
