House builder snaps up land to add more homes at Winchburgh
Winchburgh Developments Ltd (WDL) has agreed a new contract with Robertson Homes to sell land to the housebuilder as part of a £1 billion development of the area in West Lothian.The agreement will see Robertson Homes build 53 four, five and six-bedroom properties. Building work is to start shortly, with the first homes expected to be released for sale early next year.This takes the total number of homes contracted to be built in the second phase of the Winchburgh masterplan to 146.WDL said further negotiations are under way with additional developers to conclude agreements that will account for 50% of the phase two housing programme, scheduled to deliver a total of 1,000 new homes by 2025.WDL is responsible for developing the Winchburgh masterplan on a site over 352 hectares. It said it will create at least 3,450 new homes, including 700 affordable houses, 400 of which will be for social rent.Infrastructure will include schools, a new town centre, improved transport links, a marina, a district park and at least 35 acres of employment land.
