Housebuilder gets green light for 227 new homes
Taylor Wimpey has been granted planning permission to bring 227 high-quality homes to Prescot.The development, named Orchard Park, is situated on Liverpool Road and will provide three- and four-bedroom houses across a total of 20-acres.The plans were approved by Knowsley Council, which was the final stage following the homebuilder’s prior consultation with residents, community groups and other stakeholders.Orchard Park is one of nine Sustainable Urban Extension sites released from Green Belt classification in the Knowsley Local Plan Core Strategy and will assist Knowsley Council in meeting its identified housing need of more than 8,000 new homes by 2028.Taylor Wimpey is expecting to start on site in the first quarter of 2021 and Whitakers Garden Centre will remain operational until it relocates to new premises.
