Housebuilder submits village plans
Almost 100 homes could build in a village east of Solihull if newly submitted plans are approved.Cala Homes is seeking outline permission to create up to 95 properties at Oak Farm, Catherine De Barnes. The site’s western half contains existing commercial development, chicken sheds and a residential dwelling, while its eastern half comprises unmanaged greenfield land.Proposals include a mix of one- to four-bedroom units, 40 per cent of which are expected to be affordable.”The application has been submitted at a time when Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council cannot demonstrate a five-year supply of housing,” a statement filed on behalf of the applicant said:”The adverse impacts of granting permission would not significantly and demonstrably outweigh the benefits.”
