Housing and transport projects backed by Combined Authority
Housing and transport projects have secured backing from the West Yorkshire Combined Authority.The authority’s Investment Committee has agreed to progress schemes which together will help bring forward more than 900 new homes, reduce carbon emissions and improve road safety.A total of £1.8m has been allocated to progress the reconstruction of the A6025 in Brighouse, and £5.43m towards the Fink Hill Corridor Improvement Programme in Leeds.Funding of £2.76m will go towards housing development at Points Cross in Leeds. This development is in the heart of South Bank in Leeds City Centre and will comprise 928 homes, including 311 affordable properties.The committee has also approved £785,000 for the Door-to-Door Community Transport Service, with a pilot due to start in May 2021 in South Leeds.
