Housing development lined up for Middlesbrough site
Regeneration specialist Chaloner Group has submitted a planning application for a development of 131 homes in Middlesbrough.Following a public consultation, Chaloner has submitted the application to Middlesbrough Council for the scheme which, subject to receiving permission, will begin construction in the first half of 2022.Located on the site of the Oak Street Car Park in Corporation Road, the development will feature one-and two-bedroom apartments above a ground floor offering commercial and hospitality space. The location was originally the site of the Cleveland Scientific Institute, which was demolished in 2006 and has been a car park for the past decade. The scheme will be brought forward by Chaloner Group on behalf of Middlesbrough Development Company (MDC), through its role as an enabler of investment and growth in the town. MDC is a wholly owned trading company of Middlesbrough Council involved in development and regeneration projects.
