Housing plans for former office block
A derelict former office building in Kent could soon be transformed into a housing development.Tele Property Investments – which has another item on Ashford Borough Council’s planning committee agenda for a site close by – is behind the application. It concerns a previously developed site lying outside the identified built confines of Wye and centres around the former ADAS office and space. The office building has been “vacant for some while” and the site is now overgrown.Proposed is demolishing the building and bringing forward 20 homes. The application was last reported to Ashford Borough Council’s planning committee on 16 March 2022 when it was deferred for consideration.A report drawn up ahead of the next meeting on 18 May note that the matters raised at the time have since been addressed. As a result, approval has been recommended, subject to a S106 being agreed.
