Housing plans for plant nursery site
Plans have been lodged to develop almost 150 homes on the site of a former plant nursery in East Yorkshire.Gleeson Regeneration Ltd and Eternal Blue Ltd have submitted a full planning application to East Riding of Yorkshire Council for development on the on Village Nurseries site in Keyingham. The 10.9-acre site is a disused commercial plant nursery complex comprising a series of industrial glasshouses and polytunnels, which were previously used for the growing of fruits.Planning permission is sought for the construction of 147 homes on the site.A mix of two-, three-, and four-bedroom homes are proposed, with both detached and semi-detached properties.A planning statement submitted as part of the application said: “The scheme proposed is of a high quality design, incorporating green spaces and creating active frontages which will add visual interest to the streetscene, respecting and enhancing the character of the local area. The proposals represent a viable reuse of a disused site which is falling into disrepair.”The project team includes Nineteen47, Vista Architecture & Urban Design, SLR Consulting, Ecus, Alan Wood and Partners, Tree Survey Solutions, On Site Archaeology, TPS and Spectrum.Outline planning permission for up to 200 homes on the site was previously granted in 2015.
