Housing scheme proposed in Rutland
An application has been lodged proposing the construction of more than 90 homes in Rutland.William Davis has brought forward plans to build 93 properties on land at Mill Lane, Cottesmore.Extending to approximately 15.5 acres, the application site comprises a single agricultural field. The scheme would provide a mix of one- to five-bed units, of which 30 per cent would be affordable.A statement filed with Rutland County Council on behalf of the applicant said: “The proposed development of 93 new dwellings in a high-quality scheme that optimises the use of a relatively unconstrained site, in a settlement considered suitable for housing development, would provide much needed housing to meet identified needs in the county and address the five-year housing land supply shortage.”It would also make a valuable contribution to meeting affordable housing needs in the area.”
