HSBC backs post office refurbishment
The owner of a Cornwall post office has secured investment from HSBC to support a refurbishment of the store and creation of a new café.Claire Bollard originally opened Ruan Minor Post & Office Stores in September 2013. She has used the funding to refurbish the existing premises with new floors, ceilings, counters and shelves, as well as build and fit-out a new 20-seat café.The café is expected to create two new full-time jobs and support a number of local businesses that will supply products.The funding from HSBC is part of a larger finance package that includes £22,000 from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and an £8,000 grant from the Post Office.
