Huge housing estate back on the cards for Shoebury flood plain
Developers are still trying to get approval for plans to create a huge housing estate in Shoebury.Garrison Developments has re-applied for permission to build 172 homes and office blocks, up to four storeys high, on the old Gunners Park, off Barge Pier Road, which was turned down amid heavy opposition in the summer. The planning application includes a proposal for a health centre, but the Chelmsford-based firm, which says it has allayed concerns over its scheme, said it was unaware a medical centre had been added to its application. It has suggested that planners at the council have added it, with the council and NHS looking to relocate the Shoebury Health Centre, in Campfield Road.
