Hull residential development recommended for approval

A proposed development of more than 100 homes on a site in Hull is recommended for approval at a meeting next week (2 June 2021).Gleeson Regeneration submitted a reserved matters application to Hull City Council in 2019 for residential development on a 9.4-acre site located on the south side of Preston Road and the west side of Poorhouse Lane.Planning permission is sought for a total of 114 homes on the site. The proposed scheme would comprise 22 two-bed semi-detached, 44 three-bed semi-detached units, 35 three-bed detached, and 13 four-bed detached properties.The plans also include infrastructure, landscaping, an attenuation pond and the diversion of an exiting public right of way.The plans were amended following the submission to address concerns from council officer over the layout of the scheme and the public right of way divsersion.The application will be considered by the council’s Planning Committee on 2 June with an officer’s report prepared for the meeting recommending that approval is granted, subject to the signing of a legal agreement.The report said the proposed development would “provide an acceptable standard of residential development on an allocated site”.Outline planning permission was previously granted in February 2018 for 135 homes, together with associated vehicular, pedestrian and cycle accesses, landscaping and infrastructure.The project team on the reserved matter application includes ista Architecture & Urban Design, ID Planning, ATTP, Eastwood and Partners, Spectrum Acoustics Consultants, JOC Consultants and SLR Consulting.
