Hundreds of Coventry homes set to advance
Detailed plans for the construction of hundreds of homes as part of a sustainable urban extension in Coventry have been recommended for approval.Richborough Estates is seeking reserved matters approval for a scheme on land located within the Keresley SUE, which has an allocation for a minimum of 3,100 dwellings. The site is predominantly agricultural land between Bennetts Road and Fivefield Road, for which 290 units are proposed. The scheme comprises a mix of one- to four-bedroom properties, 73 of which would be affordable.A report drawn up for Coventry City Council’s planning committee – which meets on 29 February – said: “The council is not in a position to demonstrate a five-year housing land supply when using the government’s Standard Method.”It is not considered that there are any adverse impacts of granting planning permission that would significantly and demonstrably outweigh the benefits of the development when assessed against the policies of the NPPF taken as a whole.”
