Hundreds of new homes to be built on former industrial estate
A former industrial site in South Tyneside is to be transformed into a new housing estate with 335 homes.Land at Bedewell Industrial Estate in Hebburn will used to create the dwellings by house builders Barrett.South Tyneside Council’s planning committee has now granted permission for the new builds, which will be known as Bedewell Court.The application was first submitted in June 2015 and the firm say the development will also support 1,170 jobs.The majority of the new development, which will also contain some social housing, will be served by a single vehicle access road from Adair Way, with limited direct access to homes from Red House Road and Cambridge Avenue.
