Hunt to start for firms to build 92 Passivhaus homes scheme
Exeter city council’s specialist development arm is preparing to start the hunt for a contractor to deliver a 92-home scheme in the Whipton area of the city.Out of the new homes to be built at the Gardens scheme on Vaughan Road, 60 of the new homes will be affordable and retained as new council housing, and 32 homes will be for market rent.The scheme will contain three and four-storey blocks around the perimeter of the site, with a communal garden and play area at its centre.Developer Exeter City Living has already cleared the site to prepare for the first three blocks, which form part of a plan to deliver 300 homes to Passivhaus standard.
