Industrial units proposed for West Yorkshire site
Plans have been lodged for a pair of industrial units on a site allocated for employment uses in West Yorkshire.Marshall CDP, supported by ID Planning, has submitted a full planning application to Calderdale Council for a site off New Hey Road, Ainley Top, about 2.5 miles north-west of Huddersfield town centre.The 11.3-acre plot of land is allocated as an employment site in the Calderdale Local Plan.Planning approval is sought for the construction of a pair of industrial units measuring a comined 92,500 sq ft.Unit one would comprise a 72,500sq ft industrial building with two-storey office accommodation, with unit two comprising of a 20,000 sq ft industrial unit.The plans also include combined parking provision of 136 spaces, as well as associated landscaping and infrastructure.The development is expected to provide a boost to the region’s economy by support job creation and investment.A planning statement submitted as part of the application said: “The development provides a high-quality, functional design creating much needed employment floorspace in Calderdale in accordance with local plan policies.”It added: “A detailed landscaping plan is also proposed to screen the development from neighbouring residential development and mitigation put in place to control noise emissions to protect residential amenity and privacy.”
