JF Finnegan appointed to build new fire station
Construction contractor JF Finnegan has been appointed to construct Barnsley’s new fire and rescue station.South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue has appointed the company to project, which involves the demolition of the existing buildings and the construction of a new fire station totalling 10,225 sq ft.A separate multi-use facility is planned to be built on the same site along Broadway road in Barnsley.The new facility will accommodate a mixture of functions, including operational services, administrative and training facilities for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.The build will also include three appliance bays and separate provisions for partners and local voluntary organisations.
