JF Finnegan appointed to build new UKAEA facility
JF Finnegan has been appointed a construct a new facility for the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) at the Advanced Manufacturing Park in South Yorkshire.Harworth Group has appointed the Sheffield-based contractor and developer to the project, which comprises the design, construction and completion of a new 25,000 sq ft research facility.The development will feature office accommodation split over two floors and a research/laboratory at ground floor.The project adds to JF Finnegan’s portfolio of work in the Sheffield City Region for the research, development and manufacturing sectors. Previous schemes have included Mclaren’s Composite Technology Centre, two units for Castings Technology International, a production facility, offices and subsequent extension for Newburgh Engineering, new machinery facility for ATI Allvac plus working with The University of Sheffield on three research facilities (known as LVV, RTC & ICAIR) on the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC).The company also previously completed units 7 & 8 on the Advanced Manufacturing Park for Harworth Group.
