Kent village housing scheme blocked
Plans to transform greenbelt land in a Kent village into a new housing development have been blocked due to its potential impact on the Syndale Park conservation area.Shepheard Neame Ltd sought outline planning permission to construct up to 50 homes in September 2017.It earmarked land at the A2 London Road in Ospringe, Faversham, for development.A document from Maidstone Borough Council said the plans were “almost identical” to proposals refused in October 2016.It said it would be a “harmful development” within the countryside on “an unallocated site in the emerging plan”. It added that the development could cause “substantial harm to the setting of the Syndale Park conservation area.
