Land acquired for second phase of Nexus scheme
The land for phase two of the new Nexus industrial development at Capitol Park in Barnsley has been purchased, with law firm Gordons advising on the deal.Phase two is the last parcel of land to be sold off at the successful 36-acre Capitol Park development, located immediately next to M1 junction 37 and two miles from Barnsley town centre.Sarah Ratcliffe, commercial property partner at Gordons, assisted by Danielle Johnson and Albert Bell, advised Carnell Management Services. Carnell Management Services is underway on construction of phase one, which is set to be completed in the third quarter of 2019 and will comprise 15 units varying from 3,000 to 11,800 sq ft. This follows the first tranche of development funding from CBRE Loan Services, on which Gordons also advised.
