Land deal to bring 350 homes to Market Harborough
Persimmon Homes has completed a land deal that will see a major new housing development come to Market Harborough.The Hawthorns will deliver 350 new homes made up of 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-bed properties. Some 128 of these will be taken on by a local housing association providing a mix of rented and shared ownership properties and an additional 37 are being developed under the Charles Church brand to be completed in 2025.Persimmon has agreed a £5.7m Section 106 agreement, which includes over £2.1m towards local education, £1.7m towards the enhancement of Market Harborough town centre and over £472,000 towards outdoor sports improvements.Zac Hurst, managing director for Persimmon Homes Midlands said: “This is a hugely exciting development that will not only generate significant job opportunities throughout the lifespan of the project, but will also leave lasting community benefits.”Claire Dearsley, sales director added: “The Hawthorns will provide 350 high quality homes helping address the need for new quality housing whilst at the same time making important contributions to local services and infrastructure.A range of schemes will be available to assist buyers including part exchange, help with deposits and monthly mortgage payments to various upgrades to the property.”
