Land earmarked for almost 600 new homes
Agricultural land in Hartlepool has been earmarked for the development of almost 600 new homes.Bellway and Miller Homes are seeking planning permission for the construction of 570 new properties on an approximately 70-acre patch of land to the south of the A179 and to the west of Middle Warren. The site is currently used for arable crop production.The scheme will comprise of a mix of two, three, four and five-bed homes, consisting of detached, semi-detached and terraced house types.Bellway will construct 370 of the proposed dwellings and Miller Homes will construct 200, with 85 allocated as affordable housing.The proposed plans would also allow for the creation of a large area of open space measuring approximately 16 acres, including native tree and shrub planting, meadow grassland, amenity spaces and networks of footpaths and cycleways.A children’s play area is also proposed.
