Latest phase of Park Hill set to launch

The latest phase of the redevelopment of Sheffield’s iconic Park Hill Estate is set to come to market in the spring.The joint venture between Urban Splash and Places for People is preparing to launch Phase 2 of Park Hill, which will comprise a further 195 homes and 20,000 sq ft of mixed-use commercial space.The new properties will go on sale on 29 February with the first residents expected to move in summer 2021.The homes have been designed by Stirling Prize-winning architects’ practice Mikhail Riches and will include one-, two- and three-bed flats and two-bedroom townhouses.Park Hill, located on a hill above the city’s railway station, is one of the Sheffield’s best-known landmarks. The property was built in 1961 and was one of the first Brutalist buildings in the UK. It was awarded grade II*-listed status in 1998.Phase 1 of the redevelopment is complete with 260 fully occupied homes, and businesses in the 33,000 sq ft of commercial space.Urban Splash and development partner Alumno are now well on the way with Phase 3. Béton House will provide four- and eight-bedroom townhouses, two- and four-bedroom apartments as well as studios for 356 students. The developer, with S1 Artspace, also secured planning permission last year for Phase 4, which will comprise almost 100 flats and a flagship arts and culture venue.
