Latest Trumpington Meadows plans set for approval
Plans to build more than 120 homes as part of the latest phase of the Trumpington Meadows development in Cambridge are set for approval.Barratt Homes Eastern Counties submitted a reserved matters application earlier this year for the Riverside phase, the ninth at the site.The company is proposing the construction of 122 houses with 42 units within Cambridge City and 80 in South Cambridgeshire.About 40 per cent of the development would be affordable housing and 130 parking spaces are proposed.The application will be considered by Cambridge City Council’s development control committee on 14 December 2016. Councillors are recommended to grant consent, subject to conditions.A report prepared ahead of the meeting said the latest phase of the scheme will “will make a positive contribution to the character and appearance of the urban, riverside and gateway quarters within the Trumpington Meadows development”.Outline planning permission for the wider Trumpington Meadows development was granted in 2009 and covers 1,200 houses, a country park, primary school, community facilities, play space and associated infrastructure.
