Leisure centre overhaul set for nod
Plans to expand and enhance Fareham Leisure Centre with an extension featuring a climbing zone and soft play areas look set to be approved by the borough council.A two-storey extension is proposed for the facility, comprising a double-height climbing zone, studio space, soft play areas, party rooms and a multi-purpose room.The existing fitness suite would also be expanded along with refurbishment works such as a splash pad being added to the pool area.The project has been recommended for approval ahead of a Fareham Borough Council meeting next week (24 June 2020). Final approval is subject to conditions.A petition was received by the authority regarding the loss of three squash courts due to the proposed development.
