L&G submits plans for scheme on site of former Scottish & Newcastle Brewery
Legal & General has submitted a planning application to create 100,000ft² of office space at the gateway to Newcastle Science Central.Designed by Ryder Architecture the scheme is located on the masterplan for the city’s new technology and research hub Science Central – a 24-acre site of the former Scottish & Newcastle brewery in the heart of the city.Subject to planning permission, L&G anticipates being on site with the project by January next year.Elsewhere on the Science Central masterplan developer Nixon Property has received planning permission from Newcastle City council for a new 10-storey student accommodation scheme.The project designed by architecture practice TP Bennett will create 246 new student beds, in a mix of studios and cluster apartments of three, five and six bedrooms.
