Lidl planning new store in Flintshire
Supermarket giant Lidl is intending to submit plans to bring a new Lidl store to Flintshire.The discount retailer is proposing the shop for the former Somerfield/Co-op store in High Street, Connah’s Quay. Lidl is planning a significant investment which will regenerate the prominent, brownfield site and provide a new modern 15,220 sq ft store.The plans include replacement of the existing building with a new, energy efficient Lidl supermarket. It will include solar panels on the roof and electric vehicle charging points in the car park.Refurbishment of the external areas and the existing car park to provide 160 parking spaces is also proposed. Before a planning application is submitted to Flintshire County Council, Lidl will be consulting with the community.
