Lidl redevelopment bid tipped for approval
A plan to construct a new Lidl in Stoke-on-Trent has been recommended for approval.The site currently contains the former Somerfield food store and Willow Bank Health Centre and would replace Lidl’s current store nearby.The proposal for the store, which would have 33,917 sq ft of internal space, includes the demolition of retail units and the health centre on the site in Trentham Road, Longton.The application by the German discount supermarket giant will be voted on by members of Stoke-on-Trent City Council’s planning committee at a meeting on Thursday 8 November.
