Lincolnshire care home to go before planners
A care home proposed for the site of a vacant pub in Lincolnshire will go before planners next week with a recommendation for approval.Crispen Holdings has brought forward proposals for a facility on the site of the former Bull and Monkie public house in Spalding. The scheme, operated by Abbey Healthcare, would provide 88 single occupancy rooms, each equipped with an en-suite wetroom.On-site hairdressing facilities, lounge and dining areas and cafe also form part of the plans.A report drawn up for South Holland District Council – which meets on 10 April – said: “The benefits of the scheme are obvious with regard to the positive factors inherent to providing an enhancement to the district’s provision for specialist care residential facilities for the elderly.”Furthermore, the proposal represents a viable and realistic opportunity to enhance a problem site within a prominent setting of the Spalding Conservation area.”
