Logistics hub plan returns for a rematch

A new proposal for a warehouse development on the outskirts of a village in Leicestershire has been lodged.The initial plan by Drummond Estate for the Enderby Logistics Hub, situated off Leicester Lane, was turned down by the Blaby District Council last October.Concerns from residents revolved around people being worried it would harm the countryside and make traffic worseNow, with a new application on the table, the community is preparing once again to oppose the development.Drummond Estate contends that its latest proposal aligns entirely with the Local Plan policy for the area.The envisioned project aims to deliver 106,830 square meters of warehouse and distribution facilities, alongside integrated office spaces. This would offer versatility, catering both to major headquarters and smaller enterprises.However, the new scheme has already had around 900 objections, with only 14 expressions of support.While the original 2019 application included plans for four sizable logistics warehouses and a training centre near Enderby Park and Ride, the updated proposal excludes the training centre but introduces three additional general industrial buildings alongside the original four.
