Outline plans for the second phase of the Fulwood Central development – which could bring forward 500 new jobs – look set to secure approval later this week.Austringer Capital is behind the application, with PWA Planning as the agent.Three zones of space are lined up, with Zone A comprising retail and leisure units.Zone B with accommodate an eatery and co-working elements, alongside further retail and leisure outlets.Zone C would be flexible employment space.About 232,000 sq ft is lined up, with 500 jobs to be created during both the construction and operational phases of the development.A planning statement submitted to Preston Council said: “The proposals would see the development of a parcel of land which is sandwiched between existing development, and in a location planned for further employment development.”The proposals will result in the creation of 500 jobs, which too will boost the local economy and support the growth of local services, with the industrial and container park units proposed ideal for the establishment of small-scale and local businesses.”The social aspect of sustainability is met as the development will create a high-quality and attractive environment within Preston, which will complement its surrounding environment, dominated by existing and proposed large-scale development.”The application is going before Preston Council’s planning committee on 29 April, with a recommendation for approval.
